About the Task Force

Mission Statement


The object and mission of the Johnson County Early Defibrillation Task Force, Inc. is to reduce death and disability resulting from sudden cardiac arrest through the use of automated external defibrillators in Johnson County. Toward this end the task force will undertake the following activities.

1. Develop awareness in the business community, with local governments, and with the general public in Johnson County about the importance of early public access defibrillation.

2. Serve as a resource to individuals and or organizations who wish to establish public access defibrillation programs.

3. Develop a strategic plan prioritizing locations in Johnson County where the need is greatest to place automated external defibrillators.

4. Seek and apply for public and or private funds in support of public access defibrillation programs.

5. Allocate automated external defibrillators, required training, and or funds as appropriate to local government agencies and non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations to purchase automated external defibrillators and required training.
